Ohio Writing Project: Writing Kettering Independence Writing Workshop with Special Commemorative Letterpress Printing

The Ohio Writing Project will be leading a special writing experience celebrating the places, memories, and stories that make Kettering unique. Led by Beth Rimer, Co-Director of Miami University’s Ohio Writing Project, and local K-12 teachers, participants will begin with the prompt, “Kettering is…” As a group, participants will travel through the adjoining Indian Riffle Park, with guided writing exercises along the way. At each stop, participants will explore the art of writing about a place while experiencing it firsthand, adding their words and reflections to a collaborative writing about Kettering. Artist and designer Réka Juhász will be printing letterpress commemorative posters for all participants to take home.
