David Adams Underground Railroad Marker Induction Ceremony
Join the Adams family and community partners in Findlay for a special ceremony recognizing the induction of the David Adams Ohio Historical Marker into the National Park Service’s Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program.
The marker, “The Underground Railroad in Hancock County,” honors David Adams and recognizes the Adams family’s history and multi-county, multi-generational involvement in Underground Railroad activities in Ohio. The event will include historical remarks, a city proclamation, and coincides with the 106th Annual Adams Family Reunion, bringing descendants of the Adams family back to Hancock County to mark this historic milestone together. The induction brings national recognition to this important Ohio story.
The ceremony is being organized in partnership with the City of Findlay, Hancock County Historical Museum and Findlay Black Heritage Library & Multicultural Center, with members of the community invited to gather at the marker site to commemorate this achievement.
