America 250-Ohio Barn Murals

Spotlighting Ohio's Rural Communities
and Agricultural Heritage

Building on the success and enduring popularity of the Ohio Bicentennial’s barn paintings program, the America 250-Ohio Commission launched a statewide barn mural initiative to commemorate the nation’s semiquincentennial.

Several murals were commissioned from renowned Ohio barn artist Scott Hagan, carrying forward the tradition he started during the Ohio Bicentennial. Many barn owners also joined in the celebration by independently commissioning murals for their own barns. Together, these works create a lasting legacy that will stand to celebrate Ohio’s history and heritage well beyond 2026.
