Call To Duty Salute cemetery trail marker dedication

America has been in a military conflict every year since 1798, always with the goal to preserve, protect and defend freedom. This dedication is one of the signature initiatives of the Ottawa County AM 250 Committee. The overall purpose of the project is to educate individuals on America’s many conflicts and, especially, share stories of those men and women who answered the call to duty. The committee created a countywide cemetery trail marker which is placed at every cemetery where a veteran is buried. A website was created to spotlight a few of the hundreds of veterans buried in the county, provides a map of the cemeteries, a map of the more than 85 military memorials or markers in the county, and highlights of the major American military engagements since 1798.
