Ohio & The Revolution
A webinar series exploring the history of Ohio at the time of the American Revolution

Ohio & The Revolution – Revolutionary War Soldiers Settle in Ohio

After winning its independence from Britain, the Ohio Country was populated by thousands of veterans of the American Revolution who received land grants as part (or most) of their compensation from the newly formed U.S. government. Today, more than 7,000 Revolutionary War veterans are known to be buried in Ohio. The America 250-Ohio Commission has been working with several experts and enlisted the public to help better document this history and tell the stories of these Revolutionary War veterans who made Ohio their final resting place.

Please join us for the “Ohio & The Revolution” webinar at 7 pm on Thursday, November 12 to discuss the Ohio land grants that led so many veterans to Ohio and the Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project underway. America 250-Ohio Executive Director Todd Kleismit will facilitate the evening’s discussion online with the team leading much of the Project’s work in Ohio.
