Bexley Historical Society Banner Project
The Bexley Historical Society and the Bexley Community Foundation are bringing local history to the street with a new outdoor banner project. Original artwork by Edie Mae Herrel, depicting Bexley’s historic sites and buildings, will be displayed on banners along E. Main Street, Bexley’s primary downtown corridor, home to shops, restaurants, and City Hall, for the last three weeks of August through the first week of September. Pairing a local artist’s work with Bexley’s historic sites is a fitting way to mark America’s 250th, connecting the city’s own architectural heritage to the national semiquincentennial celebration. Stop by and take a self-guided stroll through Bexley’s architectural and civic history — no appointment needed, just look up as you walk downtown.
