Red, White & Base Ball Featuring the Canal Jumpers and Community Picnic
Step back in time and celebrate Americas pastime during the Hometown Community Picnic featuring the Canal Jumpers on Sunday, July 5 beginning at 11:00 AM at City Park in Tipp City. This free family-friendly event is part of the America 250 celebration weekend and brings the community together for an afternoon filled with vintage baseball, hometown pride, and classic summer picnic fun.
Guests can expect a relaxed and welcoming afternoon designed to feel like an old-fashioned hometown gathering. The event will feature Tipp Citys own Canal Jumpers vintage base ball team as current players take on former players and community members in a spirited and entertaining game inspired by the traditions of 1840s baseball. Visitors will experience the early days of Americas favorite pastime with historic-style gameplay, vintage uniforms, community storytelling, and plenty of opportunities to cheer on familiar faces from the community.
Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, gather with friends and neighbors, and enjoy a classic community picnic featuring grilled hamburgers and hotdogs while spending the afternoon at City Park. The atmosphere is designed to celebrate simple summertime traditions, connection, and the joy of gathering together as a community.
The Hometown Community Picnic aligns with the America 250 celebration by honoring the traditions, recreation, and sense of community that have helped shape small-town America for generations. Vintage baseball provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the countrys early history and experience a piece of Americana in a fun and interactive way while celebrating the community spirit that continues to define Tipp City today.
