30th Annual USO Style Hangar Dance
Guests can expect an immersive, high-energy evening that brings the spirit of 1940s America to life at the Annual USO-Style Hangar Dance. From the moment you arrive at Fairfield County Airport, you’ll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of a bygone era—live big band music from The Nostalgics Big Band, a lively dance floor, and the unique backdrop of historic aircraft and military vehicles.
The evening begins with a dance lesson, making it easy for beginners and seasoned dancers alike to join in the fun. Guests can enjoy a complimentary BBQ buffet, participate in a 50/50 raffle, win door prizes, and show off their style in a 1940s costume contest. Throughout the night, you’ll also have the chance to explore the Historical Aircraft Squadron Museum, where you can get up close to vintage planes, step into a cockpit, and connect with knowledgeable volunteers who help preserve this important history. The site is also a stop on the Ohio Air & Space Trail, adding another layer of significance for aviation enthusiasts and history lovers alike.
This event beautifully aligns with and celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States by honoring the resilience, unity, and patriotism of the World War II home front. The USO-style dance pays tribute to a time when communities came together to support troops and lift spirits through music, dancing, and shared experiences. By recreating that atmosphere, the event offers not only a fun and memorable night out, but also a meaningful connection to the people and moments that helped shape the nation—making it a fitting way to commemorate America’s 250th milestone.
