William Sommer Retrospective
William Sommer was the most well-known and highly respected artist in Cleveland at the turn of the last century. Inspired by the avant-garde Europeans, Sommer created his own shocking palette highlighting a remarkably prolific career. Agriculture was an important aspect in the growth and development of our country and many of his works depict the rural landscapes and farms of Ohio. William Sommer Respective will celebrate a Cleveland School artist who was one of America’s finest Modernists and an important contributor to the cultural heritage of Northeast Ohio.
