My American Quilt

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, young artists ages 2 to 18 are invited to take part in My American Quilt, a vibrant community art project celebrating creativity, imagination, and national pride. Participants will design their own quilt square—each one a unique expression of what America means to them.

Artists will work with a simple set of materials: a blue sheet of colored paper as the background and a white square or rectangle as the canvas for their artwork. Within this compact space, participants are encouraged to explore any artistic style they love, including drawing, painting, collage, or mosaic. Each artist may submit up to three quilt squares, allowing for multiple interpretations and creative ideas.

All entries will be grouped into age categories, and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each division. The completed quilt squares will come together to form a collective “American Quilt,” showcasing the dreams, perspectives, and artistic voices of our community’s youth.

Age Categories:
• 2–5 years
• 6–7 years
• 8–10 years
• 11–14 years
• 15–18 years

This event invites young creators to celebrate America in their own imaginative way—one square at a time—while contributing to a colorful, collaborative work of art that honors our shared story.
