Lights, camera, ACTION!

Just like in the movies, a lot of preparation must go on behind the scenes before the director says “Action!” As a filmmaker, I know it’s an exciting time and I felt that same sense of pride when Governor Mike DeWine helped us launch Ohio Goes to the Movies at the Lincoln Theatre in Columbus in May. The event was overwhelmingly well received and lays the groundwork for a wonderful celebration of Ohio and its impact on films.

Planning a statewide signature event of America 250-Ohio’s celebration is no small endeavor. Our team is working now to lay the groundwork for this unprecedented all-Ohio film series and statewide celebration of movies showcasing Ohioans and their contributions to America’s film industry and moviemaking.

Movies have the power to excite us and unite us, and we look forward to commemorating and celebrating all the ways that movies have brought Ohioans together, and how Ohioans have been at the forefront of many historic and iconic films in American history.
