Come experience Transportation through the years and learn how development shaped Granville and other villages. Talk, Discussion and Exhibit. America 1776 to present day, transportation across America has shaped cities, townships and villages across this country. Have you ever wondered how the transportation system may have impacted your hometown.
Unexpected Transportation Facts in Granville: From 1820 to 1840, Granville’s economy was industrially vibrant. However, expansion stalled when neither the National Road nor the Ohio Canal passed through town. The late arrival of the railroad to Granville also prevented economic expansion. The character of the town was greatly crafted by the missed transportation opportunities.
