SUMMARY:Getting to Know Fort Ancient
DESCRIPTION:The Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks are 2000-year old ceremonial sites that were created by the ancestors of American Indians. Eight earthworks, including Fort Ancient and the Newark Earthworks, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2023 as masterpieces of human creative genius. In this program, we’ll learn about these special places and how they relate to other American Indian sites in Ohio. This program is presented in partnership with the Carlisle Area Historical Society and the Franklin Area Historical Society to celebrate America 250. The event is free to the public. To register, please call 937-746-2665.\n
